a short story with a bit of a vampire theme
trigger warning// blood, death
uncoffined
She found him in a pool of his own blood, barely breathing right outside his own house. Tears streaming down his face, as she held his hand, whispered soft nothings, trying to make him hold on long enough till help arrived; but it was too late. The damage had been done.
He used the little strength he had left in him to look up, into her eyes. “I-I waited fo-for you, mi amour. I g-got bored. Gue-guess boredom really kills huh.” He choked out a laugh as he used his last breaths,”g-guess we weren’t meant for a hap-happy ending in thi-this life, eh?” He squeezed her hand as the last ounce of energy left his body, as his soul finally left his body.
She screamed and cried begging for him to come back, begging for God to have taken her instead, but it was done. It was over and it was too late. Her pain gave way to another feeling inside of her, a blinding hot wave of rage, a thirst for revenge, a thirst for the blood of those who took him away from her.
She got up and walked away from him. She looked at him once more just before she left, “I’ll find my way back to you, in one life or another, I promise.” She turned away from him as she ran her tongue over her fangs before moving at the speed of lightning as she followed the scent of the killer’s blood.
